Schleiferl tournament at the start of the 2022 season

Last weekend, the traditional Schleiferl tournament took place at the SV Zeitlarn tennis facility. It is intended to usher in the summer season, give the players the opportunity to get to know each other again and also ensure that the courts are firm enough before the start of the league matches.
On Saturday, at the children's tournament for under 15s, between 20 and 30 children were present, who played numerous doubles matches in different age groups in changing pairings.
Paul Scheidler, the tournament director, provided the children with a lot of fun by providing them with numerous handicaps (e.g. a ring on their feet). The sun was shining and the grill team provided food for the participants.
In addition, Johannes Schmidmeier gave a rules training for the kids.
On Sunday, the weather wasn't ideal for the over-15s and adults. Nevertheless, 23 participants took part, and the main focus was on having fun. There were plenty of hard-fought rallies and almost 6 hours of tennis were offered on the courts.

tennis camp from 12 to 13 August

Ein tennis camp in the summer,

that everyone is really looking forward to.

Yellow balls, red sand,

a bat in his hand.

Technique, tactics, games and fun:

Everyone really gives it their all.

Coordination and endurance are trained

and tried new strokes.

Even with a growling stomach

we must not despair.

There is definitely something to eat,

after that we'll be back on the ball quickly.

The sun makes the squares shine,

everyone wants to show off their tennis skills.

If all the shots are perfect,

the parents will be very upset

and the opponents really sweat.

Different exercises are performed on each pitch

and various competitions were held.

Everyone can score points -

in a variety of games.

But not only the winners will receive a prize,

because everyone will be rewarded for their hard work.

Two days of tennis – what more could you want?

Come along - we're really looking forward to it!

"Crisis" also means "opportunity"

Dear members,
Even if the current situation has thrown a spanner in the works, we should not despair! Especially now, the motto is: make the best of every situation! Therefore: postponed is not cancelled. We are sure that we will make up for our festivals and tournaments! And until then: keep your chin up, stay healthy and, above all, STAY ON THE BALL!
At the moment, solidarity and team spirit are more important than ever. Even if we can't stand together on the pitch right now, we are all united in our cause and our passion!
Use the time for yourself .... and your racket :-)

Christmas party on December 15th

The tennis members also ended 2019 together with a successful Christmas party. With over 100 visitors, the traditional event was once again a great success. A parish hall decorated for Christmas created a contemplative atmosphere, the team from Gasthaus Rothammer provided the culinary delights and mulled wine, children's punch and a fire basket provided inner warmth. In addition, eight tennis girls, two tennis men, a youth supervisor and the department head herself put on a special kind of entertainment program. Together they conjured up two funny Christmas sketches by Toni Lauerer on stage. All children and adults agreed: "It was great!"
LK tournament on June 15th

After the successful LK tournament last year, the department management decided again this year to hold a competition to improve the performance level at the Zeitlarn tennis facility. Once again, there was a large demand and an impressive 25 participants registered. The players came from all over the district and even from further afield, such as Rust or Munich. From early in the morning until late in the evening, the members from a wide variety of clubs competed against each other and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere at the Zeitlarn tennis facility. Food and drink were also provided. Many people praised the good organization and implementation. Some assured that they would be back at the next Zeitlarn LK tournament, which takes place on August 3rd.
Children's tennis camp from 11 to 13 June

For the first time, the tennis department organized a children's tennis camp during the Whitsun holidays. Those responsible organized a lot in advance. The registered children were divided into groups according to ability and age, and the coaches and supervisors thought up enough games for all teams and different stations. In addition, each child was given a "run sheet" on which they could collect points in selected games, and a certificate at the end of the camp. Thanks to cake, fruit and the odd sweet treat, everyone was able to start the matches feeling refreshed.

The Zeitlarn tennis facility was a hive of activity for three days. 18 children competed in teams and on their own in various categories from Tuesday to Thursday. Technique, tactics and game training were on the agenda. The participants trained their dexterity, ball feel and endurance in a playful way at various stations. They diligently hit balls, ran courses and collected points. At the end of the camp it was clear: the "little ones" were once again playing great tennis. With a good water balloon fight, three days full of fun, games and new experiences came to an end.

Last work assignment on October 20th

At the end of a great tennis year, there was still a strenuous work to be done. To relieve the club's coffers, the department members put in a huge amount of time and effort in many voluntary hours to maintain and maintain the tennis facility. To make the facility winter-proof, the windbreak tarpaulins and nets had to be removed, cleaned and stored. The same goes for the benches, scoreboards, umbrellas, line brooms, etc. The courts were cleared of leaves, the lines were covered with boards and weighted down with stones. The irrigation system also had to be emptied, machines and equipment serviced and the furniture stored. Many thanks to everyone who keeps taking part in the work.
Schleiferl tournament at the end of the season

At the end of an eventful outdoor season, the traditional Schleiferl tournament was held on September 29, 2018. 42 participants registered for the internal tournament for the autumn event. In sunny late summer weather, doubles pairings were determined by drawing lots. In game units of 15 minutes, the coveted "Schleiferln", which beckoned to the winning pair, were then played out in a sometimes amusing way. In separate children's and youth rounds (even small fields), the youngsters also fought in great games for "Schleiferln" for the overall victory. To fortify themselves, there was a hearty goulash soup at lunch. During the breaks in play, one or two rallies were hotly discussed in a convivial atmosphere over coffee and cake. Many thanks to the numerous cake donors.
success at the 2018 district championships

This year, the Zeitlarn tennis club was also represented at the district championships. The siblings Anna and Felix Grünbauer fought for every ball on Saturday, September 8th. Anna won every game in the U10 in Köfering and can therefore look forward to a well-deserved 1st place. In Neutraubling, Felix successfully held his own in the U9. With a confident 2nd place, he also secured his place on the winners' podium.

SV Zeitlarn congratulates both of them!
